First of all, great job on the game. Second, with all the recent press you have been receiving I’m sure many (like myself) who come to check out the game’s site and dev blog have one question: When/where can we buy the game? [the Washington Post article mentions a release around Nowruz].
It would be good PR if you guys updated the game site or the dev blog to put some information about the game release and purchasing options.
About our launch date and other specifics related to game release, there has been some discussion going on. We are considering some trade-offs and other stuff that I’m probably not the best person to talk about!
Anyway, you are right about the fact that this is the single most important piece of information we can share with Garshasp’s fans and visitors. I promise that we will remedy the situation in a very official and very definitive way ASAP.
Hi guys!
I adore your efforts to create such an exceptional game!
You prove to me that videogames can be the creation of intelligent persons no matter their nationalities.
I have fed up with all these western generic games that add nothing to originality and to new perspectives.
The point now is this:will you release this awesome game on linux?
Linux (and its most popular distro ubuntu) is the future for the desktop as well as for the mobiles.
It is open, free and completely ready to host awesome games.
PLEASE consider to release your game on linux as this will boost the popularity of your awesome game!
(btw I belong to a new team of programmers that will make outstanding games on linux! At this point we make a game called GTAt -grand theft athens- that will try to create a completely open world gta style game, based in the modern riotous Athens and we use blender (an open source alternative of 3d studio) and unigine as our tools.Well this was top secret till now but i felt the need to disclosure this secret to you first!
Thanks. I wish you good luck in your efforts too. Do you have a website for your game?
About releasing our game for Linux. Well, our engine is developed with portability in mind. And portability to another PC platform, specially Linux, is quite easy for us (at least I think so!) However, since Garshasp is our first title, we decided not to over-complicate things with simultaneous launch for Windows, Linux and Mac, and opted to release for Windows only for now. Because, as avid a Linux and Mac enthusiasts as we are, we have to face the facts and admit that the Linux and Mac game market is tiny compared to the Windows market share.
Nonetheless, I personally believe that we might release our game (later on) for Linux and Mac OS X; with Linux being the most likely option. But I can’t make any definite promises.
@Sergey
I think I have answered your post elsewhere, but I can’t see it here, so here it goes.
When we started off developing the tech for Garshasp, there was no OpenCL to speak of, and it is just taking off. Also, Bullet was not in a very stable and featureful state (IIRC.)
In any case, our only option for a portable, free and useful physics and collision engine was Nvidia PhysX (back then it was Aegia PhysX.) And it is mighty hard to change such a large part of your technology mid-project.
when this game release i cant wait…
When will the game?

Why game will with PhysX only?
And where OpenCL and Bullet Physics?
More 50% population of Earth has non-PhysX device — ATI Radeon!
